Coming up soon on French TV is a pair of documentaries about Roxane! It will be on TF6 January 28th at 23h (11 pm.) If any visitors are able to record the program for the site, it would be greatly appreciated! Read a bit more below.

Roxane in Grazia
15 November, 2011 Author: Catagories: Interviews, News & Rumors, Site News

Roxane is in Grazia Magazine — presumably the French version! I don’t have scans yet, but here is a blurb about her feature. She talks about her move to Los Angeles, the book she is writing with her mother, among other things.

As a sidenote, updates will continue to be on the slower side. I’m quite busy with school at the moment but will do my best.

Gossip Girl Spoilers!
16 September, 2011 Author: Catagories: Gossip Girl, News & Rumors

Again via Roxane’s Twitter, a great new link! There’s an upcoming Gossip Girl synopsis that finally mentions her character, Princess Béatrice. Don’t read on if you’d like to be completely surprised! But: it sounds like we won’t see her on the show til the 2nd episode. This confirms what one of the Gossip Girl twitters had said previously, that Roxane is not in the season premiere. A bit longer of a wait, but not bad at all!

Gossip Girl saison 5 : Episode 2, synopsis

Gossip Girl Filming This Week
4 July, 2011 Author: Catagories: Gossip Girl, News & Rumors

Gossip Girl’s season 5 begins filming this week in New York. It sounds like Roxane’s character arc will be the first few episodes, or at least earlier in the season, so hopefully this means we might catch a glimpse of her on set soon!

Good news, Upper East Siders! The fifth season of Gossip Girl is scheduled to begin shooting in New York City next week!

Signs have been spotted in the Upper West Side heralding the shooting schedules, which start on July 6. According to those signs, filming will occur between Central Park West and Columbus on 77th.

Finally! It’s like Christmas has come early.

Haute Couture week is also this week in Paris, so I’m hoping we may see her there as well. The past four years, she’s gone to at least one show during the summer couture shows!

Roxane’s New Part On…Gossip Girl!
23 June, 2011 Author: Catagories: Gossip Girl, News & Rumors, Television

This is as big a shock as I’ve had since I first became a fan of Roxane…

Gossip Girl Exclusive: Meet Blair’s New Nemesis

A new pot-stirrer is headed to the Upper East Side, and she’s threatening to derail Blair Waldorf’s big fat royal wedding.

Sources confirm to TVLine exclusively that French actress/model Roxane Mesquida (Kaboom) is joining the cast of Gossip Girl as the meddling sister of Blair’s fiancée, Prince Louis.

Little else is known about Mesquida’s princess character, save for that fact that she is not happy about her brother’s impending union and is hell-bent on sabotaging it. Oh, and the role is recurring, so she’ll be around long enough to do some damage.

Gossip Girl‘s fifth season — its first without Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szohr — is slated to launch on Monday, Sept. 26 at 8/7c.

She follows compatriot Clémence Poésy to be the 2nd French actress to appear on Gossip Girl, though for others who watch the show, it sounds like her part will be more along the line of Juliet Sharp (who was a lot of fun) instead of Clemence’s Eva (who was a poorly-written prop.) I have mixed feelings about this one, but one thing is for sure — she’ll definitely gain some new fans! What do you think, visitors?

New Project! “Kiss of the Damned”
13 June, 2011 Author: Catagories: Articles/Press, Films, News & Rumors

Roxane has a new project! It’s already finished filming and the title is “Kiss of the Damned”, directed by Alexandra Cassavetes. Roxane co-stars as vampire sister to Joséphine de la Baume, the French actress/model (perhaps best known stateside for dating Mark Ronson.) Read a bit more below.

Helmer Xan Cassavetes, the daughter of indie icon John Cassavetes, has wrapped production on her narrative feature debut “Kiss of the Damned.”

The Verisimilitude/Deer Jen production stars French thesps Josephine de la Baume and Roxane Mesquida, as well as Milo Ventimiglia, while Michael Rappaport, Riley Keough and Anna Mouglalis co-star.

Alex Orlovsky (‘Blue Valentine”) and Jen Gatien (“Holy Rollers”) produced the Cassavetes-scripted pic.

Story centers around two beautiful French vampire sisters who have separately come to stay at a summer estate — a ‘safe house’ in Connecticut. Ventimiglia plays a screenwriter who begins a love affair with the “good” sister and insists on joining her among the undead. However, after they begin their life together, the other “bad” sister (Mesquida) shows up and begins wreaking havoc almost as soon as she arrives. Slowly, her dark presence threatens to destroy them all.

The visual style of “Kiss of the Damned” is said to be heavily inspired by the look and feel of European art vampire movies of the ’70s, and Cassavetes’ visual influences for the project include Tony Scott’s vampire pic “The Hunger,” Bernardo Bertolucci’s hyper-stylized “The Conformist” and the Belgian vampire classic “Daughters of Darkness.”

This project sounds like a good fit for Roxane — she certainly has the perfect look for the genre! No news on an expected release, but stay tuned.

“Kaboom” Update
9 February, 2011 Author: Catagories: Films, Gallery, Kaboom, News & Rumors, Videos

Gregg Araki’s “Kaboom” finally has a trailer for its American release. I personally prefer the original that came out to promote in France, but this one features some of the film’s actual soundtrack — you can view the tracklist on Gregg’s Facebook page. Watch below! I’ve also made screencaptures of Roxane’s brief apperances in both the French and American trailers.

“Kaboom” was also recently at the Sundance Film Festival, though Roxane unfortunately was not there to promote with her cast mates. To coincide with the Sundance premiere, the American distributor IFC made it available for viewing on Comcast On Demand. If you don’t have On Demand and have yet to see “Kaboom,” you can either check out this list of screenings in American cities, or wait for the French DVD release, which is March 1st! It’s available both on Blu-Ray and regular DVD. I’ve pre-ordered my copy, so screencaptures shouldn’t be too long to follow once I get it.

Finally, I’ve added the movie’s two posters to the gallery. Take a look!

“The Most Fun You Can Have Dying”
19 November, 2010 Author: Catagories: Articles/Press, Films, News & Rumors, The Most Fun You Can Have Dying

Hello, Roxane fans! Thanks to a couple of you for links to articles about this project! Roxane is set to film a new feature this month, “The Most Fun You Can Have Dying.” It will be her second English-language feature. Read a bit more below!

Shooting will start later this month on The Most Fun You Can Have Dying, a sexy, audacious and youthful drama written and directed by debut feature filmmaker Kirstin Marcon (pictured).

Adapted from the novel Seraphim Blues by Steven Gannaway, The Most Fun You Can Have Dying will be shot in Europe and New Zealand. Director Kirstin Marcon says, “I am really thrilled to be making this film after six years of planning – we’re shooting in London, Paris, Berlin – and Hamilton – and we’ll be taking the cast, the crew, and eventually the audience on an amazing ride”.

Produced by Alex Cole-Baker with Executive Producer Tim White (Out of the Blue, No. 2), the film stars promising New Zealand actor Matt Whelan as the young and charming Michael, who learns he has just a few months to live. Hating the role of ‘dying boy’, he steals the money raised for treatment and heads overseas determined to have the time of his life. Everything derails when he meets Sylvie, devastatingly beautiful, enigmatic, French, and seriously bad for his health. (…) French “it” girl and actress Roxane Mesquida, will co-star as Sylvie.

“Kaboom” Wins Queer Palm & Finds Distribution
23 May, 2010 Author: Catagories: Awards, Kaboom, News & Rumors

Two bits of good news regarding “Kaboom” as Cannes reaches its close: it’s found international distribution with IFC, and it won the Cannes Film Festival’s very first Queer Palm, a new LBGT-themed award. Congratulations to Gregg Araki and the rest of the cast and crew (including Roxane, of course!)

UPDATE: “Kaboom” Claims First Queer Palm

Gregg Araki’s “Kaboom” was announced today as the winner of the inaugural Queer Palm, awarded to an LGBT film at the Cannes Film Festival, at a ceremony held at Zanzibar, the oldest gay bar in Europe and popular with gay fest goers. Sponsored by Gallic filmmakers Olivier Ducastel and Jacques Martineau (“Cote d’Azur,” “The Adventures of Felix”), the Queer Palm joins Berlin’s Teddy and Venice’s Queer Lion, similar LGBT-themed awards at other major world festivals.
