New Completed Project
24 February, 2010

New to Roxane’s IMDB résumé is a film called “The Hole in the Wall”, which is apparently already in post-production! IMDB says it’s in English, and it was produced in the United States, but there are other French names scattered around the cast and crew, so I’m not sure if the movie will be entirely in English. The available synopsis is simple: “A woman living in a mouse infested apartment copes with the loss of her Father.” The director, production company, and a lot of the cast also seem to be first-timers, so information in the coming months might be a little hard to come by.

7 February, 2010

According to the site LeMatin.ch, the Swiss branch of Constantin Film is putting 3.4 million francs into Roxane’s 2008 film “Sennentuntschi” to take care of some of the film’s outstanding debts. I’m unsure exactly how good this news is for eventual release, but we’ll see!

“Kaboom” Miscellany
2 December, 2009

First of all, Roxane’s character in “Kaboom” finally has a name! It’s Lorelei. Secondly, here’s our second glimpse at Roxane in character! Thank you to her Facebook Fan Page for the image. I’m hoping for at least a teaser trailer in the next couple months, particularly if the film does manage to sneak into Sundance.

New Film: “Rubber”
2 December, 2009

Roxane has already started and wrapped filming for a new project! The film is called “Rubber”, directed by Quentin Dupieux, AKA French electro house act Mr. Oizo. No word on a full synopsis, but what I’ve gathered from a bit of digging is that Roxane is the co-lead alongside Stephen Spinella, and the plot is a comedy-horror centered around a vengeful living tire (yes, the type that goes on cars!). It shot in California and has now entered post-production, during which the enormously popular band Justice will be helping compose the soundtrack. More news as it comes! If you want it faster, keep an eye on Oizo’s Twitter page. Release is scheduled for some time in 2010.

“Kaboom” Synopsis
14 November, 2009

As a follow up to our first glimpse of Roxane in “Kaboom”, here is the film’s official synopsis. Roxane’s character is still unnamed, so I’m unsure what kind of role she has, but hopefully we’ll find out soon!

A hyper-stylized TWIN PEAKS for the Coachella Generation, featuring a gorgeous, super hot young cast, KABOOM is a wild and sex-drenched horror-comedy thriller that tells the story of Smith, an ambisexual 18-year-old college freshman who stumbles upon a monstrous conspiracy in a seemingly idyllic Southern California seaside town…

Smith’s everyday life in the dorms – hanging out with his arty, sarcastic best friend Stella, hooking up with a beautiful free spirit named London, lusting for his gorgeous but dim surfer roommate Thor – all gets turned upside-down after one fateful, terrifying night. Tripping on some hallucinogenic cookies he ate at a party, Smith is convinced he’s witnessed the gruesome murder of an enigmatic Red Haired Girl who has been haunting his dreams.

First “Kaboom!” Still
12 November, 2009

Hi, everyone! I was holding off on posting this in case I could find a better quality version, but unfortunately none have popped up. Still, here’s our first glimpse at Roxane in Gregg Araki’s “Kaboom!”, in which she plays a still unnamed-character. The film is slated for a 2010 release and rumored to be possibly be making it to the Sundance Film Festival.

New Project!
6 October, 2009

How’s that for timing? All of an hour after site launch, it’s hit Reuters that Roxane has been cast in a new project, Gregg Araki’s “Kaboom.” This will be Roxane’s first American film, and she’s been busy perfecting her English the past few years in hopes of one day doing an English language film — this is excellent news for her, I’m sure!

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – indie director Gregg Araki is detonating his next picture, “Kaboom,” which follows the sexual awakening of a group of college students.

French actress Roxane Mesquida (”Fat Girl”), Thomas Dekker (”Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”), Kelly Lynch (”The L Word”) and Rooney Mara (”Youth in Revolt”) star in the film, which is currently shooting.

Araki’s credits include “The Doom Generation,” “Smiley Face,” “Mysterious Skin” and “The Living End.”
